Whether you're looking to relax, explore, or get active, there's something here for everyone—from quiet nature walks to action-packed winter fun. Come discover the natural charm of Sunrise in every season!

 
Walking Trails & Nature Paths

Take in the scenery with a stroll through one of our community trails or nature walks. Enjoy birdwatching, wildflowers, and the quiet beauty of open prairie. Trails are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

  • Sunrise Village Nature Trail – 2 km loop, accessible

  • Willow Creek River Walk – Winding trail along the river, perfect for photos and picnics

  • Meadow Ridge Lookout Path – Scenic views and native prairie grasses

 
Fishing & Boating

Love to cast a line? We’ve got you covered! Local lakes and rivers offer great fishing for walleye, pike, and perch.

  • Sunrise Pond – Stocked annually, great for kids and beginners

  • Creekside River Access – Peaceful and less crowded, ideal for kayaking and quiet fishing days

 

Bring your own gear or check local bulletin boards for bait and tackle rentals.

Winter Activities

When the snow falls, the fun begins!

  • Snowmobiling Trails – Well-maintained routes across the RM (trail map available soon)

  • Outdoor Skating Rinks – Open in Sunrise Village and Willow Creek, weather permitting

  • Sledding Hills & Snow Fort Days – Family fun at designated parks during winter break

 

Don’t forget to check local weather and road conditions before heading out!

 
Cycling & ATV Routes

Explore gravel backroads and scenic loops on two wheels or four (in designated areas). Maps and safety guidelines are available at the RM Office.

Picnic & Recreation Areas

Pack a lunch and enjoy one of our community parks or day-use areas.

  • Shaded picnic tables

  • Playground spaces for children

  • Firepits and outdoor cooking allowed in designated areas

 
Birdwatching & Prairie Wildlife

Bring your binoculars! Our natural spaces are home to songbirds, hawks, deer, foxes, and more. Guided nature walks are occasionally offered during spring and fall migration seasons.
