Our Mission

A Rich Prairie History

The Town of Lampman was named after Archibald Lampman, one of Canada’s most respected 19th-century English-language poets, whose work celebrated rural life and the natural landscape—making the name a fitting tribute for a prairie community rooted in nature and connection.

The first settlers arrived in the area around 1890, followed by a significant influx of German-speaking settlers after 1900, helping shape the cultural foundation of the town.

In 1913, Lampman became an important rail junction with the completion of the line connecting Regina to the Port of Northgate on the Canada–U.S. border. These early transportation links played a key role in establishing Lampman as a regional service centre and agricultural hub that continues to support the surrounding area today.

Community, Services, and Amenities

Lampman offers a wide range of family-oriented amenities and services designed to support residents of all ages and stages of life. The town is home to a recently renovated kindergarten to Grade 12 school, as well as a playschool for children ages three to four, providing strong educational foundations close to home.

At the heart of the community is the multi-purpose community complex, featuring a skating rink, four-sheet curling rink, and a large community kitchen that hosts events throughout the year. Located adjacent to the complex are an outdoor swimming pool, ball diamonds, and a campground, creating a central hub for recreation and gathering.

Together, these amenities support year-round activities and community events, reflecting the strong sense of connection and pride shared by the people of Lampman.

Our Mission

Health, Safety, and Community Care

Lampman is supported by dedicated local services and a strong volunteer spirit that plays a vital role in the safety and well-being of the community. The town is served by an active volunteer fire and rescue service, along with a volunteer ambulance service that responds quickly and reliably to emergencies in Lampman and the surrounding area.

Residents also benefit from a modern health centre offering doctor clinic hours, a nursing home that provides ongoing care, and accessible ambulance services. In addition, low-income housing units, primarily for seniors, help ensure that residents can remain in the community as they age.

Together, these services reflect Lampman’s strong commitment to safety, care, and a high quality of life for all who call the town home.
