Voter Eligibility

To be eligible to vote in a Town of Lampman municipal election, a person must:

​

  • Be a Canadian citizen.

  • Be at least 18 years of age on election day.

  • Have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding election day; and

  • Meet one of the following requirements:

    • Have resided in the Town of Lampman, or on land now within the Town of Lampman, for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding election day; or

    • Have been the owner of assessable land situated within the Town of Lampman for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding election day.

Candidate Eligibility

To be eligible to run for election to Town Council, a candidate must:

​

  • Be at least 18 years of age on election day.

  • Be a Canadian citizen.

  • Not be disqualified from being nominated or elected under The Local Government Election Act, 2015, or any other applicable legislation.

  • Have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding the date the nomination paper is submitted.

  • Have resided in the Town of Lampman, or on land now within the Town of Lampman, for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding the date the nomination paper is submitted.

Prospective candidates should review the applicable legislation and nomination requirements before submitting their nomination papers.

Voting Information

Before Election Day

At the polling location, voters will be provided with instructions on how to complete their ballot. Voting is conducted privately, and voters should follow the directions provided by election officials.

Nomination Information​

Residents interested in becoming a candidate for Town Council can obtain the required nomination forms from the Lampman Town Office at 303 Main Street or from the Town of Lampman website.

​

A completed nomination package includes:

​

  • Nomination Form – The nomination form is located on the front of the document, with the Candidate's Acceptance on the back.

  • Five Eligible Nominators – Five eligible voters must sign the nomination paper in support of the candidate.

  • Public Disclosure Statement – Candidates are required to complete a public disclosure statement.

  • Criminal Record Check – Candidates must provide a current criminal record check from the local police service, accompanied by the required declaration form.

  • ​

Candidates are responsible for ensuring that all required forms and supporting documentation are completed and submitted within the designated nomination period.
